Slashysanta.com - Site down time

I am in the process of renewing the Slashysanta.com domain name and transferring the registration to a new company because I find GoDaddy morally repugnant, and they have crappy customer service.  This will likely result in the site being down for a short time while the transfer goes through.

Please note that this does not effect the site hosting-- no files are being moved, no servers or hosts are being moved-- it is simply an administrative change.

The site will be back up shortly with important information about the upcoming My Slashy Valentine Exchange, so watch this space for details!

I changed the registrar of our family website a couple of months ago. It took all of 50 minutes to replicate the DNS entry. I hope this one is (or has been by now) painless too!

I think we're in the clear-- I was expecting the worst because there was a mass exodus from GoDaddy last year because the owner was making all sorts of misogynistic remarks in the press, and then went on a safari and posted all these pictures of himself with big game that he had paid an outrageous amount of money to kill for trophies, and apparently they were hemorrhaging customers so badly that they began to make it complicated and timely to transfer domains out (i.e., if you changed too much contact information at once, they would put a 60-day hold on your account to make sure there wasn't "fraudulent activity," by which time your domain name may have expired, and then they would charge you more to "recover" it-- that sort of BS-- but it seems to have gone off easily enough!

I somehow managed to miss this. I need to reconsider using them as my domain name service for my own sites.
