I agree about the benchmarks. A lot of people don't write like that, I certainly can't. I only worked out how to write my last SS fic about ten days before the submission date (I had to ask for an extention) A month before time I had a couple of hundred words I would have refused to show anyone and no clue what I was writing about, and the story I finally submitted had a different pairing, setting, even rating.
