Thank you, though. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use the story of Noah in connection to the olive branch...I was all like "whee, that works!!"
And then, about half way through, Elrond jack-slapped me on the head and said "no, dear, THIS is what happened." And then demanded that I include it...such bossy things these Peredhil are!
