Wow! This was such a wonderful read. Loved the writing and the poignant, thoughtful development of both prinicipal characters, the emotional content of Gil-galad's response to Elrond and the way you described Gil-galad's observations of Elrond, both his personality and appearance, were breathtaking. Elrond is exactly right for me. I loved the hints at the particulars of Elrond's fostering and his feelings for Maglor and Maedhros, with which I am often dissatisfied with in fanfiction. The detail of "wildness and refinement, ancient courtesy and lore mingling with disturbing rashness" was completely perfect.
