I've put off answering this for a while, simply because I feel like I have no words. Just open mouth garbling like a fish. You have given me incredible fb and have made 2007 - and helped me go into 2008 with a damn big grin on my face.
I'm glad you liked my turn on the request. I am not a fan of the complicated lover turns either, though I have read some where I was sucked in against my will :D I like having a story fit within canon, but it is often in the background because I'm not trying to rewrite canon, I'm trying to write a story within the basic structure of it.
You really understand the story well, which is so gratifying to me as it confirms I have gotten the story inside my head on paper well enough that other people can see it too. I have no idea why the door squeaked, it just did, and maybe so later you could tell me YES! and make me smile like mad.
I wanted to spin the request a little differently and because of that, it did take some thought to the situation, what would lead up to Elladan being so buried in work, so absent. The timeline fell into place when I figured that one out.
There wasn't any melodrama because that's not how they are. They have a problem, they know how it has to be dealt with. There's nothing to be done to fight about it, they will get through this with the same determination they have had with many of their life problems before this. They love each other and they know they are right for each other. They don't like it, but they'll do it and wait for a time when they can be together again.
I think master would be a strong word, lol. I - tell things how I see them and quite often it is a facet, a moment in the life of...what happens after or before this isn't the point, this moment in time is, though before and after can be hinted at to colour the present. I'm trying to branch out into longer stories but here is where I am strong, I think.
I am so happy you love my Hal. I do too, very much so of course it is a thrill to know he's so well liked. Haldir though small in the books has always had a lot of potential behind the lines Tolkien gave him.
I have gotten the sense very well, and I am deeply flattered and appreciative of your attentions and the time you took on my story. One of my goals this year is to write more, and this review is a wonderful cheering on.
