That his "work" was the "interferring" source was a stroke of genius and I would have never thought of it - And I love the time-frame - not many stories are written of....after.
I find it eminently believable that Elladan would be so distracted and take his job so seriously, just as I found it eminently believable that he would need Haldir to take him, all as part of the general comfort and letting go that was so sorely needed. I do like to see Elladan so well taken care of.
How gently you did this and I swooned at their care of one another. Rather melancholy, too, but at the last hopeful -
And you used some of my favorite words - how simply beautiful the word "lover" is - and gossamer! You used gossamer. I just love that word.
And I think you captured Haldir's "coming to wisdom" very, very well and the particular sadness of the Silvan elves in leaving their beloved lands.
I could go on and on....See what Phynke said above - doubled. She's already put into words many of my own thoughts and said it eloquently.
