I too have noticed a theme like that with some of the 'king' characters in fanfiction, but it doesn't hurt to have nice, understanding kings, right? :D I would think that Ereinion Gil-galad would've had quite an influential impact in the person that Elrond grew up to be, especially considering their closeness throughout the years following that. *hugs* So glad you enjoyed it! :D
