I'm so glad I saved this to read until after Kenaz' and LadyE's - something so nice and light to read after such unrelenting sorrow. This is a nice, tender story, Kei - a little different than your usual, but I like it - especially the mature, perfect-pitch relationship between these two.
I really liked the idea that Glorfindel wasn't used to "praise." Very different from fanon and that 'Res recognized it and used it often.
And that Erestor was the one who rather liked nature's elements and was in tune with them.
The whole, "don't ask, don't tell" vignette was hilarious. Plausible deniability, indeed.
And you threw in a little "hair fetish" - oh yeah, darlin' - me so likes elven hair.....draped, drifted, wafted, swooshed and our yes, "trailing it teasingly from tip..."
Loved the bits of humor and banter, too - the whole "you're on my hair" thing cracked me up as did, "I'll check up on her next time I'm not in Bree." Snork!
And yes, this is why I fell in love with this couple in the first place...."Three hundred years of misery (and irritation)" - That's the boys at their best and God help me, I love 'em that way.
Oh!
