I've been trying to write sensible feedback, but I don't have words for how much I loved this story. I just wish there was more - much more! You've taken this unknown time and created an early elven culture that resonates with truth. I loved the disastrous first voyage --- so THAT'S how he got the title of Shipwright --- and the mention of what probably became the first book, and ... everything. The occasional references to the stars were a lovely way to remind the reader of time and place, and the sense of isolation, of being a tiny group alone, learning, exploring, discovering, made this infinitely special.

And this explained a lot about what came later:
'Elwë knelt before Nowê and leaned his head upon his chest. Nowê stroked his hair and bestowed a kiss upon his brow. "I promise you this, Elwë, whatever this Hunter's clan has planned for us, to whatever shores we may travel, I will always be there for you either at your side or waiting on the shore for your return."

"And I promise you we shall never be parted for long and to you will I always return, my friend," Elwë said. '

And wait he did.
