What a wonderful story! I really like the attention you gave to prejudice being a primary cause for the discord between the two realms. That has such authenticity and seems more meaningful than just being angry over a flawed battle for three millennia.

Really enjoyed their interactions by the river and the "partial" binding ceremony was an interesting idea. I liked it and it seems plausible that elves should be able to provide more support in that manner.
