Oh, this was nice. Centering the story on the harvest festival was a wonderful choice. The endless round from table to table, with Erestor getting progressively more tipsy had me smiling a lot.
The other thing that I particularly enjoyed was somewhat less obvious, and that is the way you traced their relationship. Too often I am put off this pairing by a sense of Erestor abusing a position of trust with a young, admiring former pupil, but you've posited a wonderfully logical progression from tutor and student to friendly adult companionship and, finally, to deep love.
